Winter Solstice Sunset Hike: The Wrekin | All welcome!
Join us on Sunday 21st December for a special Winter Solstice sunset walk up the Ercall and the Wrekin. We’ll hike through ancient quarries and woodlands before reaching the summit to watch the sun set on the shortest day of the year, celebrating with Bucks Fizz, soft drinks, and mince pies.

About the event
Mark the Winter Solstice with us on Sunday 21st December as we climb two iconic Shropshire Hills—The Ercall and The Wrekin—to catch the sunset on the shortest day of the year.
We’ll meet at 2:15pm and set off through the ancient quarries and woodlands of The Ercall before making our way up to the Wrekin, one of Shropshire’s most beloved peaks. At the summit trig point, we’ll pause to soak in the panoramic views as the sun sets at 4:00pm—celebrating the turning of the seasons with Bucks Fizz (or soft drinks) and mince pies.
It’s the perfect way to honour the solstice and end the day with community, connection, and incredible views.
