Moel Famau Sunset Hike

A golden-hour adventure on the Mother Mountain of Wales

Join us for a beautiful sunset hike to Moel Famau, the highest summit in the Clwydian Range and one of North Wales’ most loved mountains. Standing proudly at 554 metres, this “Mother Mountain” is crowned with the iconic Jubilee Tower — and at sunset, it’s nothing short of magical.

This walk is designed to be beginner friendly while still feeling like a proper adventure. We’ll follow a waymarked 6.5 km circular route, starting with gentle forest and moorland paths before tackling a steeper but steady climb to the summit. Along the way, expect heather-clad hills, wide open skies, and sweeping views across the Vale of Clwyd, Snowdonia, and the North Wales coastline.

We’ll reach the Jubilee Tower in time for sunset at around 5:30pm, where we’ll pause to soak in the panoramic views, take photos, breathe it all in, and enjoy…
