What to Expect
🔹 Twin Peaks of Earl's Hill & Pontesford Hill Our route begins with the dramatic twin peaks of Earl’s Hill and Pontsford Hill, said to resemble the shape of a sleeping dragon. Formed from volcanic activity some 650 million years ago, these peaks hold fascinating geological history. At the summit of Earl’s Hill, an Iron Age hillfort reveals breathtaking views stretching to Wales and across the Shropshire Hills.
🔹 Eastridge Woods Managed by Forestry England, this enchanting woodland blankets a steep-sided hill. As we traverse Eastridge Woods, we’ll follow a section of the famous Shropshire Way long-distance footpath, enjoying peaceful trails surrounded by nature.
