About the Event
Join us on Friday 8th August 2025 for a day exploring one of North Wales’ most beautiful waterfalls—Rhaeadr Fawr (‘Big Waterfall’)—better known as Aber Falls.
We’ll follow a stunning circular route through the scenic Aber Valley, taking in ancient history, spectacular waterfalls, and sweeping views over to Anglesey. Our route starts from the Upper Aber Falls car park, crossing a stream and winding gently through the valley. Along the way, we’ll pass the Aber Valley Hut Circle—an Iron Age settlement built around a Bronze Age standing stone—before reaching the dramatic 36m waterfall.
After a good waterfall gaze (and probably a few photos!), we’ll venture on to a hidden gem: Rhaeadr Fach (‘Little Waterfall’)—a lesser-known spot just off the main path. From there, we’ll climb steeply up the side of Ffridd Ddu, where panoramic views over the Menai Strait and Anglesey await. The descent back towards the village is steep in places, so care…
